The CSL is categorized into six sections according to spatial location of items of equipment. Each laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and supported by experienced coordinators.

Biology Laboratory
Life science facilities for genomics, proteomics, cell culture, and biological assays supporting research across multiple science departments.

Chemistry Laboratory
Analytical instrumentation including chromatography, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis for chemical research and characterization.

NMR Laboratory
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy for molecular structure analysis and chemical characterization of compounds.

Spectroscopy Laboratory
Advanced spectroscopic analysis including UV-Vis, FTIR, and atomic absorption for materials characterization.

Molecular Biology Laboratory
Specialized facilities for DNA/RNA analysis, gene expression studies, and molecular diagnostics research.

FabLab
Digital fabrication laboratory for prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing research support.
Access Information
How to access our facilities
24/7 Access Available
CSL provides 24-hour gender-friendly access to users within and outside the university, including visiting scientists. Office hours are Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM.
Safety & Training
A major focus of the laboratory is to train researchers on how to derive maximum benefits from the installed equipment. Orientation required for all new users.
Fee Structure
Rates vary by user type: OAU internal users, external academic users, and industry partners. Contact CSL for the current fee schedule.
Over 36 Science Departments Use Our Facilities
The main users are members of staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students for research and final year projects. Over 20 other universities/research institutes across the nation also make use of the services.
